Take a tour of Dorset's Jurassic Coast to Lyme Regis, visiting the most famous fossil sites on this half-day tour.
Dorset is renowned for its fossil finds and this tour takes you to two of the most prolific sites along its coast. You will visit two fossil museums and have the opportunity to join a guided fossil hunt which is almost guaranteed success!
We start with a drive along the coast, following Chesil Beach to reach Charmouth with its Heritage Coast Centre displaying local fossils. Here you can stroll along the beach or join an organised fossil walk.
We then move on to Lyme Regis, the home of the early fossil-hunter Mary Anning and where you will find a fascinating museum and fossil collection. You will also have time to stroll along the famous Cobb - a huge, protective harbour wall dating back to the 13th Century. The shopping street has interesting, independent shops and there are plenty of eateries.
